Kimmeridge is active in Illinois and Indiana with a focus on the New Albany Shale and the Mississippi Lime. Currently Kimmeridge owns over 62,000 net acres.
The company was a first mover in the development of the play concept and has to date drilled 10 wells (8 operated, 2 non-operated). The drilling program was initially focused on gathering critical data to de-risk the play, including over 1,000 feet of core across multiple horizontal targets. Both vertical and horizontal wells have been brought onto production and the data from the company’s science program appear encouraging and confirm material volumes of oil in place. Consequently, Kimmeridge continues its process of testing both the Mississippi Lime and the New Albany Shale horizontally, applying learnings from its earlier wells to optimize its latest.
